Housing and redevelopment authority
The Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) was established in 1987 to serve the housing, economic development, and redevelopment needs of the citizens of Hennepin County and its municipalities.
Meetings
Meetings are held periodically after regular County Board Committee Meetings on Tuesdays. The agenda for each meeting is published as soon as possible prior to a meeting. Meetings will be hosted virtually until further notice. Details for specific meetings can be found on our board meetings webpage.
Mission
The principal mission of the Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority is to serve the housing and economic development and redevelopment needs of the citizens of Hennepin County and its municipalities.
The HRA undertakes or assists housing projects that will provide decent, affordable housing, and undertakes or assists economic development or redevelopment projects with a goal of:
- Creating jobs
- Expanding the tax base
- Eliminating blight, and
- Providing or facilitating the provision or operation of public conveniences and improvements
All of this should be done in a manner which produces the lowest possible cost to such citizens.
Budget
The 2025 Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) budget is $39.3 million, with a property tax levy of $21.8 million.
