Structure
The commission is made up of 10 members.
- The Mayor or designee.
- Four legal Minneapolis voters not from any of the following boards or bodies.
- Appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.
- A member of each of the following:
- Hennepin County Commissioner representative
- City Council representative
- City Council appointee
- School Board
- Park Board
Eligibility
Must be a Minneapolis resident.
Term
- Two years.
- February 1 through January 31.
Responsibilities
Commission members will:
- Work with staff of the Community Planning and Economic Development-Planning Division.
- Develop plans and review development applications.
- Do long-range planning for the city and advise the City Council on matters of development, zoning, and capital improvements.
Meetings
Approximately every other Monday at 4:30 p.m. in room #320 at 505 - 4th Avenue South.
Compensation
- $50 per meeting. Up to 4 meetings a month.
- No reimbursement.
