Roads and bridges
Hennepin County, in coordination with the City of Brooklyn Park, is preparing for improvements at the intersection of Brooklyn Boulevard (County Road 152) and Welcome Avenue in Brooklyn Park. The proposed improvements will increase roadway and intersection safety, enhance traffic operations and provide improved pedestrian facilities.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, dates subject to change.
This is a safety project at the intersection of Brooklyn Boulevard (County Road 152) and Welcome Avenue in Brooklyn Park. The goal of the project is to improve safety for all types of travel, particularly those walking and rolling, through replacement of the traffic signal, construction of curb extensions, realignment of pedestrian crossings, lighting and ADA upgrades, and realignment of medians to improve left turn offsets.
The project is currently in final design. We will complete design work in early 2026 and begin construction in 2027. These dates are subject to change.
