Below are county-led paving projects and other road maintenance.

You will see crews on site and may have to adjust your travel, but usually for only a brief time. The long-term benefits of these investments include making it safer and easier for you to connect to places using county roads.

Repaving

Repaving projects usually last only a few days to a couple of weeks, and most don’t require full closures or detours.

• York Avenue South (County Road 31) between 69th and 76th streets

• Spring Road/Eden Prairie Road (County Road 4) from Excelsior Boulevard (County Road 3) and the bridge over West 62nd Street (County Road 62)

Orono/Independence/Minnetrista/Maple Plain

• County Road 19/North Shore Drive between County Road 151 and just south of Creekview Green

Independence/Medina/Loretto

• County Road 11 from the west County Line to County Road 19

Tonka Bay/Shorewood

• Smithtown Road (County Road 19) between just south of Glen Road and just west of Minnetonka Drive

Chip sealing

Chip sealing typically lasts a few days. These improvements don’t require full closures or detours but watch for lane closures and flaggers.

Long Lake/Orono

• Wayzata Boulevard (County Road 112) between North Willow Drive and Wayzata Boulevard West

Minneapolis

• Lyndale Avenue South (County Road 22) from 31st Street West to 56th Street West

Minnetrista/Orono

• County Road 151/West Branch Road/North Arm Drive between County Road 110 North and just east of the Hendrickson Bridge

Orono

• Wayzata Boulevard (County Road 112) from 6th Avenue North (County Road 6) to approximately half mile east of 6th Avenue North

Pedestrian ramps and accessible pedestrian signals

We are updating intersections on county roads where we are doing repaving work to meet accessibility needs. This work is guided by our Americans with Disabilities Act plan and completed in partnership with others.

These projects typically take a few weeks to complete.

Corcoran/Rogers/Maple Grove

June 2 – 5

Brockton Lane North (County Road 101) will be closed to repair a culvert just north of Stieg Road. Traffic will be detoured to use 97th Avenue, Fletcher Lane, and Territorial Road. Local access will be maintained on Brockton Lane North for residents and businesses.

Golden Valley

Through summer 2026

Three Rivers Park District, in partnership with Hennepin County and the City of Golden Valley, is constructing a trail along Golden Valley Road/Duluth Street (County Road 66) from Douglas Drive to Theodore Wirth Parkway, and improving accessibility at the Noble Avenue and Hidden Lakes Parkway intersections.

Edina

Through summer 2026

The City of Edina, in partnership with Hennepin County and MnDOT, is replacing the bridge over Highway 100, and the Vernon Avenue Bridge (County Road 158) over the Canadian Pacific (CP) Railroad. The project will also improve the intersections at Interlachen Boulevard, Gus Young Lane, Arcadia Avenue, and the Highway 100 on- and off-ramps.

Rogers

Through fall 2026

The City of Rogers, in partnership with Hennepin County, is improving and realigning Fletcher Lane between Territorial Road and County Road 81. As part of the project, they’re also constructing roundabouts at Territorial Road and at County Road 81, constructing a trail, installing improvements to make crossings safer and more accessible, and rebuilding the at-grade railroad crossing.

Brooklyn Center

Through fall 2026

The City of Brooklyn Center is improving Humboldt Avenue from 53rd Avenue North to 57th Avenue North. The project will reconstruct the street and trail, and repair or replace water and drainage utilities.

Through fall 2026

The City of Plymouth is leading a two-year project to improve roads, trails, utilities and transit near the intersection of Highway 55 and County Road 73.
