Facilities and programs

Facilities

DOCCR correctional facilities provide safe, secure and healthy environments for residents who are waiting for court disposition or placement, or who have been sentenced or committed by the courts. Each facility provides residents with a wide range of educational programming and support services focused on successful return to the community.

Our department has a zero-tolerance policy for incidents of sexual abuse, misconduct and harassment.

Report an incident of sexual abuse, misconduct or harassment that occurred in one of our facilities.

Programs

Probation

Our probation divisions offer pre-sentence investigations, supervision and other assistance to criminal justice partners, clients and families engaged in Hennepin County's justice system. Probation officers work closely with clients and community organizations to enhance community safety, promote community restoration, and reduce the risk of re-offense.

Testing lab information

DOCCR’s testing lab collects urine and DNA samples and performs urinalysis and alcohol testing for individuals under supervision (including conditional release) and anyone court-ordered to submit samples or undergo testing.

Your supervising agent is responsible for contacting the lab with testing requests. Agents should provide clients with an informational handout.

What to expect if you visit the lab:

  • You must provide identification when you arrive
  • Lab staff observe all urine sample submissions
  • If you cannot produce a sample, refuse to provide a sample, or miss your appointment, your agent will be notified
