Voter registration drives

Individuals or organizations may conduct voter registration drives. They may print the voter registration applications or get up to 100 paper applications at a time from us by mail or in-person pick-up.

To request mail delivery or in-person pick-up of applications email hc.vote@hennepin.us or call 612-348-5151.

Steps

Step 1

Make sure voters complete the registration applications correctly. The voter must:

  • Answer "Yes" to the first 2 questions. Do not fill out the questions yourself unless the voter asks for assistance.
  • Provide a Minnesota driver's license or ID card number, or the last four digits of their Social Security number. If they don't have any of those, they must check the box for "I do not have a MN-issued driver’s license, a MN-issued ID card, or a Social Security number."
  • Include their name, address, date of birth, and signature.

Step 2

Make sure to return all the completed voter registration applications within 10 days after they are dated by the voters.
