What to expect
- Events are free and open to Hennepin County residents
- Only items on the accepted list will be considered
- Items will be vetted onsite for quality and potential redistribution
- All items must be clean, and in good working condition
- They must be free of rips, stains, strong odors, and/or pet hair
- Our partners Better Futures MN, Bridging, Certified Recycling, and Second Chance Recycling reserve the right to refuse items that are not reusable and recyclable
- Follow signs and listen to staff for directions
- Inclement weather could affect this event

Gently used building materials and furniture on this list
Building materials
- Cabinetry – bath vanities, kitchen cabinets
- Countertops – laminate and stone (straight sections only; no peeling, deep scratches, burn marks or excessive caulking)
- Doors – interior (solid wood, no hollow core) and exterior
- Flooring – hardwood (new and used, free of nails and staples) and laminate (new only)
- Grout, mudding – new, unopened containers only
- Hardware – handles, pulls, hinges
- Light fixtures – no shiny or gold brass, no fluorescent lighting
- Lumber – 4 foot minimum length, denailed
- Nails, screws – no rust, in original box/container (no jars or glass)
- Plumbing fixtures – faucets, sinks, toilets
- Tile – new only, full boxes
- Tools – electric (corded or battery powered), hand (screw drivers, wrenches, hand saws, hammers, etc.) and yard (rakes, shovels, etc.)
- Windows – unbroken only
Furniture
- Bed frames
- Metal, freestanding, and folding
- Complete sets will be accepted with hardware
- No footboards, headboards or wooden rails
- Chairs and stools – kitchen, rocking, upholstered, folding, and counter-height stools (no powered or wheeled chairs)
- Couches and sofas – sofas, loveseats, and ottomans, 90 inches long or smaller (no sleeper, powered, or reclining sofas)
- Desks – must be 42 inches (w) x 24 inches (d) or smaller
- Dressers – must be 65 inches (l) or smaller; glass inserts OK (no stone/tile/all-glass tops)
- Kitchen and dining tables – must be 72 inches (l) x 42 inches (w/d) or smaller. Round/square tables should be 42” in diameter or smaller. Square folding/card tables/glass inserts OK (no stone/tile/all-glass tops)
- Futons – complete sets only, frame and mattress
- Tables – nightstand, end, and coffee; glass inserts OK (no stone/tile/all-glass tops)
- TV stands – must be 36” (h) x 72” (w) or smaller
- Wood furniture – bookcases, 72 inches (h) x 36 inches (w) or smaller (no glass shelves)
- Mattresses and box springs
- Stain and rip free; twin (XL okay), full, queen, king sizes accepted
- No plastic box springs, mattress toppers, cribs, cots, powered/electrical beds, bunk or trundle beds, sleeper sofas, roll-a-ways or air/inflatable/camper beds
Not accepted
- Appliances
- Aerosols
- Electronics
- Garbage
- Mercury thermostats
- Paint, stain, varnish, solvents
- Recyclables (cardboard, glass, metal, paper, plastic, etc.)
- Roofing shingles
