We can speak with you about options for helping your child including:

  • Mental health assessments and therapy options
  • School and community-based supports
  • Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) and rehabilitative mental health services
  • Case management and care coordination
  • Insurance and payment options regardless of ability to pay
  • Referrals to community programs and specialized services
  • Access to intensive or residential services, when clinically appropriate

1800 Chicago – Behavioral Health Center

We serve Hennepin County residents 18+, focusing on needs related to mental health and substance use disorder.

Walk in anytime. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Services include walk-in center, crisis residence, withdrawal management and recovery programs.

The Mental Health Center serves adults, adolescents and children who have serious mental illness and who may also struggle with substance abuse.

NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center

NorthPoint's culturally responsive behavioral health therapists offer a wide range of services. We provide interpreters and help with all financial situations.

Behavioral health fund

Substance use disorder (SUD) providers can talk to you about payment options including the behavioral health fund, which allows eligible residents to obtain services free of charge. Those who are on Medical Assistance (MA) already qualify. MNsure SUD coverage begins once you are enrolled in a health plan. Monthly spend downs also apply when accessing licensed SUD services.

Hennepin Health members have access to all programs that accept the behavioral health fund without needing prior approval. The SUD provider you select can send all placement information to the county's Addiction and Recovery Services Unit.

You will speak with someone to help you identify your needs and offer options for service.

We may refer you to services or agencies for treatment and support. These could include:

  • Community support program access
  • Intensive residential treatment
  • Outpatient mental health services

  • Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)
