Hennepin County polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on primary and election days.

In the even-numbered years all polling places are open. Some cities and school districts hold elections in the odd-numbered years.

Intimidation of or interference with the voting process is illegal. There are criminal and civil penalties in place to stop it.

Action can be brought by the Attorney General, a County Attorney, or anyone personally impacted by a prohibited act.

Available on all state general election days:

Voting instructions in Hmong, Somali and Spanish - the 3 most commonly spoken non-English languages.
The state demographer determines those languages for the previous calendar year.
Translated sample ballots in precincts where 3% or more of the population speak English "less than very well."
Translation services upon formal request to the Office of the Secretary of State. The request must be from 10 or more registered voters. This is available in precincts where 20% or more of the population speak English "less than very well."
