Vehicle titles and registration

Apply online or in person to transfer a title, get a duplicate title or register your vehicle for the first time in Minnesota.

You'll need:

• Insurance information
• Vehicle information
• Title or registration card, if you have it

Online application

You can get your title by mail or pick-up it up at a service center.

We'll contact you within 1 week with instructions to complete your transaction.

Payment options

Check, money order, credit or debit card. 

In person application

If you can't apply online:

1. Complete and bring the application to title (PDF, 1MB).
2. Schedule an appointment or come in to one of our locations. Wait times depend on staffing.
3. Bring identification such as a driver's license or state ID with you.
